We’re kicking off meet season with a Pep Rally at the pool on Friday, June 12! It’s the perfect pre‑meet warm‑up: swimmers can try a few practice race laps with official starts, pick up their team caps and T‑shirts, and hear a panel of older swimmers share tips, stories, and maybe a little wisdom earned from years of early‑morning wake‑ups.

Parents — this is also a great chance to meet and mingle with some other parents.

Because the pool will remain open to non‑team members during the event, let’s all be mindful and share the space kindly. And since we’ve got an early morning ahead, we’ll wrap up, clean up, and get everyone home in time for a good night’s sleep.

RSVP is requested (but not required) so we can give the pool board a rough headcount.

Event Schedule

5:30–6:00 PM — Welcome, Meet & Greet, and Pickups

Families should gather at the back pavilion to begin the evening. Parents are encouraged to pick up a name tag and aim to meet two to three parents you don’t know—or whose names you may not remember from last season.

During this time:

• Optional bring‑your‑own dinner
• Parent mingling
• Kids’ free play and sidewalk chalking
• Pickup of team merch: swim caps (1 included in your registration) and team shirts (if ordered)
• Sale of select older team merchandise
• Distribution of unclaimed 2025 team photos
• Pickup of Metro Swim Shop suits delivered to the pool

Because the pool remains open to members during this time, families should try to stay within the pavilion area or use the lounge chairs to ensure non‑team members have space on deck.

6:00–6:15 PM — Older Swimmer Panel

Meet at the back pavilion for a light, friendly Q&A with some of our older swimmers.  

6:15–6:45 PM — Team Cheer & Practice Racing Starts

• Team cheer to kick off the season
• Starter on deck
• Practice 25s in two lanes using the official starting system

7:00 PM — Cleanup & Early Meet Setup

Families assist with a quick cleanup. Initial meet‑setup tasks begin like arrange benches, put up tents, set up tech table, set up snack bar area, etc.  Some larger items (lane lines, flags, etc.) will be saved until closer to closing time at 8pm.
